Name that memory....

Under the comments link, post 1 or 2 memories that you have of me. I'm feeling like some flashbacks. Make sure to tell me who you are if you post under "Anonymous".

THE Tank

The hubby has gotten the tank set up. He got a really cool star fish last night. This is one big tank!

I LOVE school!

So what have I been doing with my new-found freedom? Let's see...

I've taken naps. (Notice the plural napS.)

I've rearranged the girls' bedroom. Even took the bunkbeds apart all by myself.

I've gone out to breakfast with friends.

I've had a planning meeting for our craft night at church.

I've watched some of season 2 of 24. LOVE this show!

I've read my scriptures 30 minutes everyday.

And this is only the first 4 days! I think I can get used to this!

PS-I posted a slideshow of the kids from our vacation on the kids blog. You gotta check out the pic of me going off the rope swing into the river!

A First

Any guesses as to what Sparky is doing? Drinking? Putting in a contact? Nope. He was shaving his head with a manual razor! I was so shocked and so grateful for a camera phone.

First Day of Freedom!

Today is the first day of school. Both girls are off and it just me and the baby! We are off for pancakes with some friends in a few. Check back later today for pictures.

B didn't want her picture taken. We finally convinced her.

For my sister

Here's the bite Rudy's cream corn I ate for you. Dang! It was yummy!

A Break in the Boredom

So I was brave and took the kids to the zoo today. BY MYSELF!!!! They were actually very good except for asking about 20,000 times (this is NOT an exaggeration) to do the flattened souvenir penny. So here is a slide show (turn the volume up - thanks High School Musical 2) of our day at the zoo and our pool party afterwards.

(And let's not forget that after stopping for some oh-so-delicious breakfast tacos and a HUGE Dr. Pepper, I spilled the Dr. Pepper all over myself. Nice. I had to turn around and go change. It was that bad.)

PS-I LOVE my Mac! I made the slide show in no time at all. So fun!

Bored on Vacation

We are currently visiting my dad on vacation. We had only planned to stay a few days, but found out some of my cousins were going to be coming into town, so the kids and I decided to stay for a few more days. The only problem is that we don't have anything to do until my cousins get here! It's been raining and most things are closed because school is getting ready to start. I'm just glad we brought the Wii and my computer!

Oh, and the worst thing....

Since we were going to only be here for a few days, I didn't bring my coupon notebook. And I only packed enough diapers and formula for those few days. I had to pay full price! ::gasp!:: It almost killed me.

Check out this blog: This mom is a hysterical writer. You also have to check out her eBay listing. It a bit of a read, but worth it! I can SO relate! (I figure since she has 6 kids and went to 1 store that I'm even since I have 3 kids and usually go to 2 or 3 stores.)

Old Friends

We had a little mini-reunion of our old friends. Some I hadn't seen in over 10 years. (Wow! Am I really old enough for that to be true?) It was so much fun to catch up and see everyone's spouses and kids. (Only 1 spouse per person, but on average, 3 kids each!)

Mario Master

Whew! I can finally edit! I'm not on my home computer, and my dad's computer wouldn't let me edit!

Well, as you can see, I finally did the Turtle Tap on Super Mario Brothers. I got a ton of lives and saved the princess. Yes, I am the Mario Master and yes, you may worship me. My stepsis got a kick out of seeing me get so excited over a stupid video game that wasn't even in 3D. Different generations I guess. So now, I must master Super Mario Brothers 2.

I must not tell lies.

I keep telling myself that if I don't blog, I'll get my house clean. This is a lie. My house is still a wreck and my blog has been neglected. No one is winning here. So I will pay homage to the blog today. And what a better way to do this than with a few grocery game testimonials?

Store #1:

I bought 55 items including baby formula, juice, pasta, rice, mouth wash, tooth brushes, tuna, some produce, milk, hand soap, pudding, rolls, yogurt, etc.

Total: $116.36
Actually paid: $10.51
Saved: $105.85

Store #2:

I bought six 12 packs of 12 oz cans of Cherry Coke, 6 Hallmark greeting cards, 10 bottles of L'Oreal Pro Vive shampoo & conditioner and 3 hand soaps.

Total: $97.20
Actually paid: $13.28
Saved: $83.92

I don't really need more shampoo, conditioner or hand soap, but they were free! Great for donation!

Time for a break

Well, since my house is a COMPLETE disaster, I am really going to limit my computer time, which in turn mean I must limit my blogging. I know, I's going to be hard to get through your day without your muggle-fix, but somehow you will make it though, I promise. So good bye until my house is somewhat in order.....

For my newest reader

My husband has recently started reading my blog. (Hi honey!) And he asked me to post pictures of his 110 gallon saltwater tank. If you remember, we got it at a garage sale a few months ago. He's really done an amazing job at building the filtration, canopy and other accessories for the tank. I'm sure we'll find a new home for it soon since we are upgrading to the 175 gallon bow-front tank.

Blog crazy!

I've been blogging a lot lately, so make sure you scroll down a few posts to make sure you don't miss any of my thrilling life!

And I've just learned how to connect Wii's, so if you have one you can read about connecting a Wii and we can exchange numbers. (Thanks Kellis fam for the tip! Our Wii number is

I received a letter in the mail from Sprint (my cell phone provider). Normally, I just throw solicitations away. But for some reason, I opened this one and read it. It said that to thank me for my business I could receive a $100 credit for extending my contract for 2 more years. And if I called before September 14th, I would receive an additional $15. So I thought, why not? I call and see what this is about. So I call the provided number (877-217-3471) which did not count against my minutes (added bonus) and I asked about it. The nice girl said, "Sure! No problem! Let me put you on hold real quick while I apply that to your account."

After I was taken off hold, she informed me that since I had just renewed my contract in June, that I wouldn't have to extend it, but would still get the $100 credit to my Sprint bill. I couldn't believe it!

"So what you're telling me is that you'll give me $100 just for calling you?"

"Yes ma'am."

So I now have $115 credit on my Sprint bill just for calling a number off a little flyer. (You might try it too if you have Sprint).

After I cashed in on the cell bill, the fam and I headed over for a little Grocery Game shopping. I stocked up on Toaster Strudel, Eggos, Aquafresh and a few other goodies. My total before coupons and such:

I walked out paying

which is $67.19 savings.

Now I know you're thinking, Muggle, you've done better. But there is more my friend. With my qualifying purchases, I received $12.50 off my next shopping trip. AND I will receive $10 back in a mail-in rebate. So I actually made money on the deal. Not too shabby! Plus they had my favorite flavor of Toaster Strudel, Cinnamon Roll which I can rarely find.

A work in progress

So now that we got the giagantic tank, we of course have to make over the room it's going to be in. So it'll be going from a playroom into a more formal living/sitting room. Here are some kind of before pictures. We had to paint the wall behind the tank first so we can move it into the right place and start setting it up. We're painting it a steel blue. It's coming out very nicely. The girls and Harry Potter (our cat) are even helping.

Something new

So the hubby got a new toy today. It's pretty big and fancy. I told him it could be his coffin it's so big! It's a 175 gallon bow-front Oceanic aquarium. It's reef-ready which means you can put all the pumps and filters underneath and put it flush against the wall. I told him that we now need a bigger house for this gianormous aquarium. I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon. But we can go swimming! I'll post pics of it once he has it all set up with his fish and stuff.

New Shades

I have finally graduated from my Nintendo glasses (yes, I wore kid Nintendo glasses) that I have had for probably 4 years. Now I have prescription sunglasses and new regular glasses. I'm not crazy about the regular glasses. When Suzi was down, we went to Eye Masters and she helped me pick out some really cute frames. When I went to the Eye Masters here, one frame that we had picked was discontinued and the other had to have upgraded lenses. Poop! So here's what I came up with on my own. I'm still trying to convince the hubby to get me LASIK. No luck yet.

Wednesday, August 1, 2007

The girls decided to get a Nintendo Wii for their birthday presents instead of having parties and other gifts. So that's what the got from us and from Grandpa Steve. (Thanks!) BUT the Wii is too much fun! As soon as the kids are in bed, the hubby and I turn on the Wii and have tournaments. And I recently discovered one of its cool features: downloading old Nintendo games!!! So what is the first game I download you ask? Super Mario Brothers, baby! In my glory days, I was the Super Mario queen! I could get all the way to the end and save the Princess without warping! I haven't tried that yet, but I've only just downloaded it. I still remember where most things are. My thumbs have lost their calluses from playing for hours on end. I need to freshen up on the Turtle Tap (which gives you 100 lives). But I was able to save the princess with warping. Not too shabby for not playing it in YEARS!!! It was so nostalgic and fun! I think we all know what my new addiction will be. (Oh, and they have Excitebike for download too!!!) I love technology!
