The Trains

SEVERAL months ago, my husband had the great idea that he would build display boxes for his antique trains. He actually finished them pretty quickly. Hanging them was another story. But they are finally up now! Woohoo! They are up in Baby G's room and look pretty nice. When you ask G where the trains are, he will point to them. Daddy is so proud! We're working on the "choo-choo" sound now.

I'm loving yoga!

I joined my local YMCA and have been attending the yoga class. I am totally loving it! It is so relaxing. It's nice to be able to exercise and calm down at the same time. Normally I have 1000 things running through my head, but in yoga class, those 1000's of things don't bug me. I hope to add in another class or two during the week, as well as some weights. I'll need to recruit my exercise buddy, Lara to help me out there. :)

I also have a ton going on right now. I'm making bows for a friend's bow business. I'm doing a little local marketing for my other friend's story time business. And I'm working at starting up a new business. :) So life is crazy, but it's great!

Threading

I just got my eyebrows and upper lip threaded. If you have no idea what I'm talking about....this post is for you.

Threading is an ancient method of hair removal with origins in Arabia and South Asia. It is very delicate procedure, making it suitable for even the most sensitive skin. The art of threading may be seen in the gentle and precise twisting of a length of cotton thread which is twisted along the hairs which are to be removed. The twisting action of the thread traps the hair and lifts it out of the follicle. Threading is more effective and less painful than tweezing; hair re-growth becomes finer and more sparse after regular treatments; and the top layers of skin are not peeled or traumatized in the process. Threading is highly recommended and an excellent option for those who use Retin-A, Accutane, and similar products.

I have a lady here that is fabulous!!!! She really has a great talent for shaping the brow and not over-doing it. It is super fast and doesn't have the side-effects, so to speak, of waxing. I know when I have waxed before, it rips the top layer of skin off and causes breakouts. Not so with threading. It only removes the hair. I have very fair skin (that's a nice way of saying pasty), and it doesn't irritate my skin and the redness is very minimal. It's great for any facial hair removal. I have several friends who take their husbands to get threaded!

So try it out! Your brows will thank you!

Oh! And here is a video of it...

It's reality

I have a new catchphrase, motto, slogan....whatever you want to call it.

If you don't pick it up, no one else will.

This is the truth. My husband won't pick it up. My kids won't pick it up. The dog...worthless. The cat, well, let's not even go there! And since my magical cleaning fairy is no where to be found, I guess it's all up to me. So I am attempting to embrace this reality since I've FINALLY realized it. So I keep repeating it to myself, and it is helping. So hopefully the amount of times that I walk past something lying on the floor wondering how long it will be there will diminish.

Have I lost the love?

I haven't been Grocery Gaming in a couple months. This is because 1) I have a TON of groceries stockpiled, 2) the holidays have been very busy with travel, kids home and such, and 3) I haven't been in the mood.

GASP!!!!

I know, I know. Mugglemom not in the mood to grocery shop? Is the world coming to an end?

I can assure you, the world is not coming to an end. Well, it will eventually, but that is a whole other story!

I just haven't been in the mood to do much of anything lately. And that is another story as well.

But I did go semi-Grocery Gaming last night. Yes, I know that the list is only valid Sunday through Tuesday and yesterday was Wednesday. Occasionally, the sales last longer than just a week, and I hadn't gotten my stuff together to go on Tuesday, so I was willing to take my chances. I still did pretty darn well if I do say so myself. I only went to one store (Kroger). Oh! I almost forgot the funniest part of my shopping trip...well, the ONLY funny part of my shopping trip. I got up to the check out and was rummaging around in my mammoth diaper bag/purse for my wallet. It was gone. Chubbs must have been unpacking my bag earlier in the day. Wasn't that nice of him? Well, dang it! How was I supposed to pay for this huge cart-full of groceries I had?

Wait! A checkbook!

And I could even remember my license number too! The checker said he would take it without my ID. (I guess I didn't look like a liar or thief...just a sloppy mom).

So, after he was done scanning all my groceries my total was

$146.55

After coupons and my prescription rewards (gotta love free money!) I paid

$32.11

I saved $114.44!

Not too shabby for a non-Grocery Game shopping trip.

Under Construction

My sweet friend, Tay, who is a digi-scrap GENIUS, designed the new blog banner for me! Isn't is so cute? So please excuse my blog as I work on the colors and designs. Blogger is giving me a hard time putting the banner up, so I've had to kind of work around them. Time to get creative (in a computer way!)

I just don't get it

I have had several people over the last couple years tell me that they are amazed at how much I have it together for being so young. I am simply baffled by their comments! I feel like I have it anything BUT together. I guess I'm a good actress and didn't even know. Don't get me wrong....I'm not fake by any stretch of the word. I am genuine in all my words and actions. I just don't feel like I have my ducks in a row as much as it appear that I do. I'm not sure if it's because of the craziness of my ADD brain or what. Maybe I'm just having a Debbie Downer state of mind right now. On my favorite local message board, we were listing compliments of other members of the board (many of us know each other in real life). Here is what was said about me...not to brag or toot my horn, but to serve as reminders to me of my positive attributes.

    Head On

Someone recommended this on a site I frequent. Since I suffer from frequent headaches, I thought I would give it a try as well. It really does work! You simply rub the chapstick-like tube across your forehead (or whereever the pain is) and within a few minutes, you will have relief. It doesn't get rid of the whole headache everytime, but it does work. My husband's grandfather even tried it on his chronically-sore neck. It provided relief for him as well. It's small and easy to carry. And for less than $6, you can have a tube ready to go.

The craziness that is my reality

I will start off with this disclaimer:

I have ADD. It has been professionally diagnosed.

That being said, I am still crazy. I have problems. I have serious addiction issues.

One of my addictions....you guess it. Blogging!

I have probably 20+ blogs in my head at any given time that never make it to the web. I have them very well planned out with titles, pictures, funny ways to say things, etc. But do you ever get to read them? No. Not unless you can read minds. I keep coming up with more and more, but by the time I sit down to actually write one, they seem old news.

One of the "side-effects" of ADD is hyperfocusing. Right now my hyperfocus is Scrabulous. It's Facebook's version of Scrabble. Since I've discovered it, I've been having 10+ games going on at one time. I try to justify this addiction with the fact that I am using my brain to think and play. And I've recruited people to play with me to feed this new addiction. It's a love/hate relationship.....mostly love. (Except for when I lose!)

Something else that happened recently is that my jaw locked open Sunday morning. I have problems with my TMJ (jaw joints) and in the past couple years my jaw would stick open for a few seconds when I was brushing my teeth or yawning, but I was always able to pop it back in place. Well, with my first yawn on a Sunday morning, it decided to stay open. It was really scary not being able to close my mouth. After about 15 minutes or so, I got a lucky wiggle of the jaw and it closed. OUCH!!!! So I took a muscle relaxer and slept until 2pm that day. I went to the dentist today to get a cavity filled and they also took impressions for a night guard to help with my TMJ problems. I hope it helps.

One accomplishment from this week was that I beat Super Mario Galaxy. It is an amazing game! It's fun and challenging. I got stuck on trying to beat the final match-up with Bowser, but after some thorough searching on the internet, I was able to figure it out. The girls and I are having a bunch of fun playing while they are on their vacation from school.

I think that's about it for now. Nothing too exciting. Nothing too witty or funny. But I'm hoping that by typing this out, my mind will stop racing in the middle of the night and I can sleep!

(You ready for my next Bingo, Zoot?)
