Hollywood Video

Our local Hollywood Video had a great sale on their previously viewed DVD's. So we stocked up! We got Meet the Robinsons, Shrek 3, Hairspray, Ratatouille, Stardust, and The Prestige.

I love Stardust and The Prestige!!! They are great movies! If you haven't seen them, go buy them. GO! NOW! You will want to own them because you will want to watch both of them several times. Stardust had really crappy trailers, and so I don't think that it got the hype that it deserves. It is kind of a new "Princess Bride" type movie of the day. It's a great love story with a twist of fantasy. It is a little too violent for the small kids though. :( Guess they'll have to wait a few years to watch it with mommy.

The Prestige was a great how-did-they-do-that movie. Great story line with twists and turns. Another good movie that came out the same time The Prestige was The Illusionist. It was good as well, but The Prestige was definitely better.

Happy viewing!

Yoga and weights

Just so you know....not a good combo. I did a little bit of weights (seriously...it was just a little bit) before my yoga class on Tuesday. I was a tiny bit sore yesterday, but today, I can barely walk!!!! Pretty much every muscle hurts except my abs. Guess I need to work on those suckers. The price you pay for a hot bod. Well, the closest thing you can get to a hot bod after 3 kids. LOL!

I am a weak person

As soon as I found out that they were making Guitar Hero for the Wii, I was ecstatic! I wanted to get it. I wanted it pretty bad. Every store I went into that would sell it, I would check. Of course, this was right before Christmas, so my efforts turned out zilch! So I was Guitar Heroless for Christmas. Poor me.

Then, a few weeks ago, while perusing the aisles at Target, I just happened to find myself on the Wii aisle. When lo, and behold, what do my little green eyes spy? Why, a Guitar Hero! I call up the hubby and tell him what I see. He reminds me of how much I have going on and how I tend to hyper-focus on things. But he leaves the decision up to me. Dang it! Do I have the will power to leave Target without my coveted game?

I dig deep...very deep within my soul, and I walk out with just my baby. Yay me!

So I'm going on in my busy life without the distraction of GH. (Let's not talk about Mario Galaxy, Facebook, Scrabble, etc.)

Then Toys R Us ran a little ad. It was a small ad, only one folded sheet in the Sunday paper. But there was something in that ad that caught my eye. One heck of a deal. And we all know how much I love a great deal! TRU was selling GH for $20 off! So on Monday, I went over to my local TRU and grabbed me a Guitar Hero!

I must say I'm not too shabby. Those years of playing the violin are actually good for something. I have already beaten the game on EASY. Now I'm onto MEDIUM. I have been able to show some self-control and only play a little bit here and there. Having to really concentrate to play well helps with that control. You better watch out for this rockin' mama!

UPDATE: I have now beat MEDIUM!!! Time to rock HARD!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Today would have been my Grandma's 81st birthday. Sadly, we lost her two years ago to complications from a heart attack. I miss my Grandma very much. It usually hits me when I am lying in bed about to fall asleep. Not sure why. Maybe because I can cry and mourn her loss in peace.

She had a very hard life. She was rough around the edges, but I loved her anyways. She softened up a bit when her son (my uncle) passed away. That's when she would say "I love you." She did the best with what she had to work with. I know that she loved me. I miss her cooking. She was a wonderful cook. We got spoiled having her living with us and cooking for us for a lot of my teen years. In honor of my Grandma, I will make fried mush tomorrow for breakfast. I love you and miss you Grandma! Happy birthday!

A Sunday nap

Sunday naps are a beautiful thing. They are a necessity in my week. So with our church being so dang early (8:30AM mind you), there is plenty of time in the afternoon for a long nap. So yesterday, I get home from church and put Baby G down for his nap. I make lunch for everyone. We eat and then I go upstairs for my nap. After tossing around for about an hour, I finally fall asleep. I even make it into dreamland when my wonderful husband opens the bedroom door and.....

"FYI...your son can take his diaper off and wipe his poopy butt all over his sheet!"

SLAM!

What do I do? I roll back over and go back to sleep.

Thank you honey for cleaning the baby up and discovering his new talent. No more pantless naps for him! (The baby!)

(I also added some pictures to the kids' blog: Muggle Kids. FINALLY!)
