The past couple weeks

Here are some pictures from the past couple weeks of our life during the Ike-imposed vacation.
There are also quite a few more pictures on the kids' blog, so don't forget to check them out.

The only way this boy will give me a kiss is if a picture is being taken.  Better than nothing I guess.
Took the kids to the zoo.  It was nasty hot, but fun.
This boy was a HAM at his big sister's b-day pool party.  Too cute!

Taking a walk along the creek.
The pile of debris just kept growing as we had to cut down broken limbs and such.

Returning Home

Due to our location right in between a fire station and a police station, we got our power on very quickly. So we returned home yesterday. Here are pictures from our return home, as well as a little of the damage to our home. Luckily, the damage was very minimal. We did lose all of the hubby's fish in his 175 gallon salt water tank, so that was a fun smell to come to. YUCK! There are still a ton of our neighbors without power. The gas lines are crazy! What an experience!

Ike Update

Well, Ike has moved out of our area. Our house has survived. Thanks to a few friends, we were able to get reports on our house. We have some gutters down, a large limb down in the back and some debris around the house. By some small miracle, we have power! If you look at the map below, all the red areas are customers without power in Houston. They have restored about 19% of their customers' power. There are still 81% of their customers without power. We are still at my Dad's house though. Local authorities have asked that those that evacuated to stay put until they can restore more power and clear more streets. The kids' school has been cancelled thru Wednesday, so we're not in a huge rush to get back.

Ike Evacuation

We decided to evacuate from Hurricane Ike....mainly because I'm a spoiled brat, and I don't want to live without air conditioning.  Here I am (reflection in rear-view mirror) as we're heading to Dad's.
There were TONS of ambulances heading towards the storm as well as empty buses.  Some of the buses were even police escorted.
Packed up and ready to go!  Even the dog!
Thank goodness for technology to distract!
Even baby G was even cruisin' with Sponge Bob the movie.
Our trip was very easy.  It only took us 30 extra minutes than normal to arrive at my Dad's house.  Traffic was thick, but moving.  Right now, for our zip code back home, they are forecasting 87 mph.  Nice!  They are thinking that the eye will be within 5 miles of our home.  Should be fun to see what we get to go home to.  Yikes!

Baby #4 4D Ultrasound

Hi guys! We had our 4D ultrasound today for our little girl. And yes, it is a girl....we had her double check. ;)

She was being a little difficult and didn't want to stop chewing on her yummy baby fingers. It was really cute, but made it hard to see her little nose and mouth.

And great news! I don't have gestational diabetes with this pregnancy!!!!! Woohoo!!! No testing and special diet this time!

Here she is! She would not take her little hands away from her face. Might be our first thumb sucker.

Blonde again

I got a lot more blonde put back into my hair yesterday. It's actually more blonde than the picture shows, but that's what you get for taking the pic with the webcam. Also a couple of updated baby belly pics. We're at 6 months now. Still 3 more months to go. UGH!
